If you suffer from anxiety, the most important goal you can have is the ability to control your own thoughts, being able to suppress those that are irrational and invite the logical practical ones. This is hands down the best anti anxiety solution. Unfortunately, this is also the most difficult thing to do, even if you don’t suffer from anxiety it can take years of practice to master your thoughts…
What you CAN do is learn the basics, they can go a long way in reducing the intensity of your anxiety.
Here we go:
Breathing is one of the first anti anxiety techniques you can try. Having a correct method to breathe is essential and yes I know, everybody says this… but with good reason. We’ll give it a little spin to increase the effectiveness. When you breathe, make sure you breathe all the way down to your belly. Breathe in through your nose and breathe out through your mouth, take slow long deep breaths. While your breathing in, imagine a warm golden healing energy flowing in your body and try to feel the energy, When you breathe out, imagine a cold negative blue energy flowing out of your body, this energy represents all the negative thoughts. Do this 5 times when you wake up and 5 times when you go to sleep.
Focusing your mind on an object… This can take your mind away from your worries and give your psyche some space to breathe and process suppressed problems of the past. If you have trouble focusing on the object because other thoughts and worries are creeping in, you should try putting on some headphones and listening to music (also a great anti anxiety trick)…
Music in general can calm you mind like no other form of entertainment can. The reason music has this effect is because it appeals to both sides of your brain, the rhythm occupies the logical, mathematical and practical side, while the melody takes care of the emotional side. So listen… and listen a lot!
Another effective anti anxiety method is meditation. This is a very broad subject and you can find a lot of techniques online. I’ve been doing it for a while now and have my own personal technique. It’s beyond the scope of this simple article but I’m putting my entire technique in the ebook I’m writing.
